The Library Regulation 2005 made under the Library Act 1939 will be automatically repealed on 31 August 2010 under section 10 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989.
The Subordinate Legislation Act requires that before a Regulation can be made or remade consultation is to take place with appropriate representatives of consumers, the public, relevant interest groups, and any sector of industry or commerce, likely to be affected by the proposed Regulation.
